How do you set up a paysite
members area?
Initial setup varies, you just have to find what works best
for your type of site, but ALWAYS log them into content, they
didn't pay that for the membership to just get trapped into
being asked for more money, so make sure you have several
galleries of content in there for them to see when they login
What do you put there?
The way I do mine, when they join, they are taken to a page
with like 21 sets of content and movies, and some upsells, but
make sure the upsells aren't too intrusive because this is
just going to piss them off, they want to actually see content
when they pay that much to join a site. But do put a few in
there. I use things like live chat and live cam upsells in
mine and it does well. I also use mostly text links on these.
I put things like friend finder, toys and things like this
that they can actually get some use of.
How do you lay it out?
Ok, this one, at the top, I have a header and links to all the
areas of my sites, the bonus areas, plugins, different
categories of content that are in the site, so they know there
is more than just the one page. Then I put a welcome note in
there for them that I update at least once a week, let's them
know someone is actually there and it isn't just a script
driven site. Down the left and about 3/4 over the page towards
the middle, I have content sets and to the far right I have my
text links list there for upsells and such, usually the pay
per view types of things, but don't make them intrusive.
At the bottom, I Have all my support links, my disclaimers,
links to download any movie players or anything they may need
to get the right player for any movies. Then I have a few
small button types of upsells, toy stores, friend finder and
this sort of thing.
How much content should one use at the start?
I usually start mine with about 30-40 sets of content to
start, each set has at least 50-100 pics, doesn't sound like a
lot, but if you update like I do, then it grows fast.
How much content should go in the updates?
I update with at least one set a week, unless they are small
sets, then I add 2 or 3. To START, I only update about once
every 2 weeks, then as I get members, I update more. We have
been updating about once every 3-4 days now that we have
members. This one is pretty much how fast you grow and how
many members you get and how fast. No sense in updating every
other day if you have no members there to see them, conserve
the content. LOL
THIS is what I have done and what's working for me, it isn't
going to be what works for everyone, but we've tested out a
LOT of various methods and this is what is working for us. We
are at ABOUT a 43% recurring ratio right now, I believe that's
right, so this is pretty good...... BUT unlike some, we DO
update those sites and we DO log them into content, we don't
log them in where they are being hammered for more money, that
just pisses them off. MAKE sure you put your email or some
contact in there, you'd be surprised how much this helps, and
when they email you, answer them back. My team is really good
about responding to their members and I have to say that it
has made drastic improvements on this. Surfers are people too,
treat them like it. Some forget this, they say fuck it, they
paid me, now I am done with them, but TALK to them, interact
with them, let them know you are there........... this has
made a HUGE difference for us.
