FYI: Once you copy the code (CTRL-C) you should place it in
your browswer and test it!
If the url takes you to the right site, all is well. If you've
copied it incorrectly (which happens)
or the webmaster has made an error in where the link points
to, you will know immediately.
That happens too! In any case, it's terribly frustrating to
send traffic that you don't get credit
for. So always test your links.
You will now place a banner or text link on your website using
this code as the
link url. If you don't use this code, your hits will not be
tracked and you will not show up on the list.
Once that is done.. your hits are now being counted!
I lost my linking code,
now what do I do????
On the link list you will find a link that says "Edit
account". click that. You will find a login page that
looks like this.
You will place your username in the field and your password
in the bottom field. Use the dropdown arrow to chose what
you'd like to do. You generally do not have to 'login' with
your u/p to get your link syntax. If you want to see your
stats (your hits in/ hits out ratios) you can do that by
logging in here also.
Same goes for editing your account should you need to make a
change.
Where is
my link? Why can't I find my link on your site????
These are possible reasons.
1. Your account has not been approved yet.
2. You have not sent hits in or if the webmaster requires hits
to be shown. (example: 3 hits to show up)
3. The webmaster only shows the top 50 and your rank is below
that.
4. A problem with your code.
I
keep getting errors when I try to sign up
If you get the error
"Description is too large" it most likely means that
this list doesn't
allow descriptions. Put an X in the field for description. If
you don't see descriptions on
the actual friends page/toplist, chances are, they do not
require one.
If you get the banner Heigth/width is to large,
simply use your back button and put the
proper dimensions in. Friends page buttons are 150 high and
100 wide. Standard banners
are 468 wide and 60 high.
If you get the banner Username taken error,
simply use your back button and pick
a different user name. This means someone else is using this
username and the list cannot
keep track of two accounts with the same username.
Should I put a friends
page on my website too?
Most
amateur sites, link lists, and many mainstream sites use
traffic scripts to manage their traffic automatically. It's
appealing to other webmasters because signing up can be done
easily and quickly. People will be more likely to link with
you if you have an automated friends page.

They will install it on your server if you like.
We recommend that you get your own autoranks for your
websites. Many toplists do not accept free friends pages on
their list. There is a free download at JmBsoft that you can
use and you can contact your host for help with the install.
There are also several other resources for friends pages where
you can get your own friends page immediately. They are very
user friendly. Some of them take traffic from your list.
This is to recoup the cost of running the free service. If you
don't mind that, then you might like these companies. We
